Less Than Cake

In honor of Macey's first birthday (more to come on that later), here are few things you might not know about the little one.

1. She likes Usher. As in the singer. We went through a period of time where she wouldn't eat her breakfast unless I turned on the song "Yeah!". Thankfully, that period has passed. However, if we turn it on now, she will stop what she's doing and bump to the music.

2. She likes to climb. Anything becomes a possible climbing tool if it is more than half an inch tall; whether it be a book, a box or her mom. Her favorite destinations are the recliner, the couch-on her way to Dad's desk-, and the coffee table.

3. She doesn't like bows in her hair, but is okay with pony tails. Also not okay- a bow on the pony tail. Pony tail only.

4. She likes to clap for herself. One day she was babbling and all of the sudden clapped and giggled like she'd made a joke. We got the stink eye for not clapping with her...we didn't know we were supposed to.

5. She will fall asleep on me, but not on her dad. Adam doesn't get this nor do I since he is obviously more cuddly than I am.

6. She likes football and actually cheers when big plays happen. Only, she can't differentiate who her dad is cheering for. Most Saturdays at our house are spend with Macey clapping vigorously at the tv and her dad trying to teach her to say Go Wolverines or Go Cougars...she doesn't get it.

7. She likes reading. When she's being really quiet, (unless she's being a trouble maker), she can usually be found looking at a book and turning the pages. She looks at them like she is reading, it's very cute.

8. She fits in the cupboard, as she likes to show us frequently by climbing in and sitting down. She always goes to the same cupboard depending on which room we're in. She likes to climb in the cupboard because she knows she's not supposed to be in there and thinks that if she crawls in, I won't be able to stop her from being in the cupboard....she's a tricky one this girl.

9. She has better problem solving skills than I do most days. I can't figure out how to keep her out of the kitchen no matter what I do because she always finds a way in. She will crawl under, over and through any obstacle to reach her favorite cupboard in the kitchen. She's the most determined little girl I've ever seen.

Those are just a few random facts about the big one-year old. She is a great joy and keeps us busy. We love her! Happy Birthday Macey!
