Modern Playgrounds

In following with our normal custom of asking our primary kids what fun things they did during the week we quickly stumbled into a funny conversation with little Marly.

"I played at the park."

"Oh, that sounds fun." - I lied. I am 25, I don't go to the park to play. That is not fun. "So did you play on the slide?"

"Yeah"

"What about the swings, were there swings?" - What's a playground without any swings?

"No, there were no swings."

"Oh, well you probably played in the sand. Was there sand?" - This seemed like a simple enough question...and the answer was simple enough, just not expected.

"No, just BARF!" - Marly would do well in Texas Hold-em. She said this with all seriousness. As Sara and I were trying to bury our laughter Anthony piped in.

"Did she say barf?"

"No Anthony, of course not. Bark. She played in bark." - I lied again. I think it was okay, because I was in the church and ligtning didn't strike when I took the sacrament later that morning.

"It sounded like she said barf?" - Let it go Anthony.
