Less Than Cake

Reading the news today made me grateful for the life I have. A headline shocked me "Mom and boyfriend planned son's death." As I investigated the story, I realized that only the day before I had read about the same boy being found dead in a car and the mother claiming to not know anything about it. And while I don't know anything about that woman or her life, I was suddenly very sad.
I think I've always been lucky and overly spoiled and blessed. I can't think of a time when I didn't know there were people who loved me. Lucky for these two kids, Livi and Brayden there are a lot of people who love them and they will hopefully someday feel as lucky as I do.
So to my family and friends who read this, thanks for being there and being good people. Especially those of you who have children and love them, thank you for doing your best.
