Sunday Story: Aaron's Moment

You can mark today down as another special moment for our all too literal Aaron. Every Sunday as class begins we ask our little 4 year olds what they did for fun last week. As intended, this always turns into story time and the kids have a lot of fun.

Today, Aaron's turn went like this:

"So who else did something fun last week?"

"Aaron, what did you do that was fun last week?" -- Simple enough question, or so I thought.

"Ummm...." -- Aaron muttered with his customary pensive look.

"Did you do anything fun last week?"

"Well, I know.....I mean, does last.....ummm does yesterday work for last....?" -- Aaron thinks everything over once. This is why a 4 year old already has his pensive look down pat. Aaron then thinks it over again, for good measure. Then, Aaron begins to talk. As he is talking he is thinking out this conundrum for a third time resulting in a partially coherent thought.

"Yes, Aaron. Yesterday works for last week. So what did you do yesterday?" -- I am guessing I wasn't too different from Aaron when I was his age, so understanding his thought process is not a problem today.

In case you are wondering, Aaron went to Lagoon. In a stunning coincidence the not-too-bright-but-tries-hard Anthony also went to Lagoon this week. On a side note, Anthony likes to copy other kids' stories.
